‘Floating’ bike lane takes place of shared road space downtown
Downtown bicycle commuters have been talking for weeks about the roadwork being done on 10th Avenue S.W. in the Beltline, wondering what might come of one of the city’s original bike routes once the painters moved in.Change is the answer. Not to be confused with the recently added bike lanes on 10th Street N.W., 10th Avenue S.W. is about to change from a “sharrow” to something called a “floating bike lane.”
